Assessing and Grappling with Stress and Burnout in a Public Agency

This “Stress and Burnout” group project and presentation represent a fictional case study in which a team of MPA students, including myself, combine our studies in public administration with our real-life experiences in public administration. This group work illustrates how we would assess and treat stress and burnout as a Human Resources Team for a fictional public hospital. Permission to use this group project and presentation in their entirety has been authorized by each group member.

Ethical Reflection and Statement

A public administrator’s ethical framework shapes analysis and synthesis, which promotes problem-solving with evidence-informed decisions. An ethical framework guides a public administrator through the murkiest waters. This essay argues that an administrator’s ethical statement sheds light on how essential it is to not only consider facts, but to evaluate and address ethical implications.
